Benefits of Yoga for Survivors

Trauma-sensitive yoga is a clinically-studied intervention that prioritizes opportunities for survivors to restore their own felt sense of agency and power that is often compromised as a result of trauma. Trauma-sensitive yoga can hold space with you as you integrate your whole self after a traumatic event, relationship, or prolonged experience.

When practiced regularly, trauma-sensitive yoga has been shown to reduce PTSD symptoms, both in intensity and presentation frequency. Yoga’s traditional focus on acceptance, nonviolence, and physical sensation as a form of knowledge, can play an important part in creating a healing and generative practice.

Logistics

Healing with Yoga is offered three times each calendar year. Usually, a series begins in January, April, and September. Exact start dates are announced six to eight weeks before a series begins. The group is limited to 8 participants. Applications are reviewed on a first come first serve basis. Once all spots are filled, applications will close until the next group.

This is a closed group offered for all self-identifying survivors (if you feel a connection with that word in any way, you are welcome) and does not accept drop-ins. This format ensures survivors have the opportunity to connect with themselves and to build community with one another.

After I receive and review your application, you will be sent a personal invitation email and payment link. This email will also include details about the space, parking logistics, and a few forms to fill out to ensure the safety of all participants.

Payments, Cancellations, and Refunds

Your spot is not reserved until you complete your registration payment. I encourage applicants to pay as soon as possible to ensure their spot in the series. Payment must be completed not later than the Thursday before the series begins. If not enough applicants (5 minimum) complete their registration payment by the deadline, a series maybe cancelled by me. If a series needs to be cancelled, you will receive an email no later than the Friday before the series start date. If a series is cancelled, you will have the option to receive a refund minus the processing fee, or elect for me to hold your spot in an upcoming series in the next 24 months.

If you need to cancel your registration:

You must request a refund no later than the Thursday before the series begins. Cancellations are subject to a $75 fee, which will be subtracted from your refund in addition to processing fees.

Questions, refund/cancellation requests, and reduced fee inquiries can be sent to: hi.movewithcait@gmail.com.
