What's in a blog these days?
A note of grief, writing, and offerings.
Dear friends,
I’ve been a little less than regular in my newsletter/social media/email response rhythm this spring. While I’ve been teaching quite a bit—and relishing every minute of it—the admin side of my work has been push to the side to make room for a big life adjustment. I chose not to share about this as it was happening, but I’ve been on a somewhat unplanned online sabbatical due to a death in our family. It’s been a time of curling up, feeling soft, and reflecting on how deeply I love the people in my life.
If you want to read my rather personal take on grief and grieving, you can now do so over on my newly relaunched Substack. And, if you want to read more reflective writing in the future, you can subscribe directly on Substack. You’ll occasionally get a thoughtful letter from me in your inbox.
In the mean time, what will be on this blog? Mostly thoughts about yoga, trauma, how you can support yourself at every life stage, and upcoming offering announcements. I may occasionally also share some writing from my archives, an experimental piece of content like a mediation, or major updates when faced with events like the LA Wildfires.
Today, I’ve got a few wonderful things for you as I ease back into a busier rhythm:
- ❤️🩹 Mindful Movements: Ecological Grief & Community Recovery | June 18th @ 6:30pm. Our final offering with Patagonia Pasadena before the summer, this event is free! In this two-hour workshop, we will create a space to move our bodies together, foster presence through guided somatic meditation, and consider our connection to each other and the land as a catalyst for grief and recovery. I really hope to see you there!
- 🎉 Summer Sale on Online Sessions | Availability Varies. I’m opening up more time for online 1:1s, both 35-minute and 55-minute sessions. And to celebrate, I am offering a substantial discount for first time clients. If you have never tried 1:1 online yoga with me, you can pick between 2 packages: The Tune Up Series (10 35-minute sessions) or The Deep Dive Series (6 55-minute sessions) at a 40% discount to my usual pricing. I’m really excited to have more time to work with you and I hope to see you on the virtual mat!
- 🧘♀️ Community Yoga Class | Tues. & Thurs. @ 9:15 am (ongoing). We are a dedicated group of all abilities, and we'd love to have you join us for some movement and relaxation. If you are looking for an accessible and welcoming yoga class, come check us out!
- 🌱 SAVE THE DATE: Healing With Yoga | Begins September 22nd, Mondays @ 7pm. Have you experienced a traumatic event or relationship? Are you journeying with a chronic condition? Are you feeling the weight of overwhelm? You might like to join this curious & intentional 8-week group class for everyone who needs dedicated space to grow.
- Something to listen to:
In strength and solidarity, and with a little extra love,
